Dixie brings to Flatbrook bloodlines from three of the finest NAVHDA Griffon kennels--Ralph Nodine’s Duckpond; Bill and the late-
Barb Jensen’s Alders Edge and Mike Mularczyk’s Greylock Glen Dixie’s NAVHDA Pedigree includes Griffon registration GR0001, Point Pewter Tip, and generations of field tested and Utility Prized Griffons. Her progenitors include multiple General Rogers Award winners. (The General Rogers Award was given by the WPGCA between 1972 and 1994 to the top field dog performance of the year, if appropriate)

Dixie is a good looking powerfully built Griff bitch at fifty four pounds and twenty-one 1/2 inches.  She has a ideal hunting coat with a “bird finding“ machine for a nose. When still young, Dixie showed great potential in the water and she trained up nicely as a waterfowl dog. Dixie has a genotype Griff body, a sweet temperament and a clownish personality. She is an Alpha bitch and as a result can be a bit hard headed.

Dixie earned her JH and effortlessly earned her Senior Hunter title, and has one leg toward her Master Hunter. She was shown in the conformation ring several times as a puppy and we were very encouraged by her performance earning 9 points toward her championship, including a best of breed major over top specials.  She is a enjoyable hunting partner with great stamina, regardless of conditions, and a loving family member.

Dixie was bred to UC CAN Ch Toulouse de Bords du Daw FDX in the fall of 2007.  While the litter was small, 2 pups (see Dixie's pup's gallery), the male Deuce earned an obedience title at 5 months & the female, Boo earned a Natural Ability Prize III at 6 months.  We expect both dogs will excel in the field and, if shown in conformation as well.

As part of Dixie's health clearance we discovered she has a thyroid issue, a low T4 count, which is affecting her reproduction capability.  We expect to have her checked further by specialists before we continue her breeding career.
